A hot air ballon over Umbria
Changing your point of view is always a good exercise, you can see things from a different perspective.
Umbria is one of the greenest areas of Italy – everybody knows it – but observing it from the height of a hot air ballon is an exclusive experience.
The hot air balloon is the first successful human-carrying flight technology. It was started in 1783, in Paris, in a balloon created by the Montgolfier brothers. That’s why the italian name: mongolfiera. Since a few years is possible to fly, from June to September, from Bevagna hills, in a big wicker basket carrying up to 18 people. When you softly leave the ground, you don’t even realize it. In a few minutes you go up to 1.000 meters of altitude! Pete, the Hungarian pilot, speaks 5 languages, included a perfect english. He’s very trustable, with many many years of experience with his company. He loves Umbria and hopes to settle here.
Flying is for everybody, you just need to be able to jump on the basket before it leaves the ground!Destination unknown, depends on the weather: can be Todi or Assisi. Landing is usually on a field and you will be brought back at the starting point, a wine producer, Cantine Dionigi where a wonderful brunch and wine tasting is waiting for you.
