October in Trevi

October is the best time of the year to discover the town of Trevi, not far from Foligno, in the middle of Umbria.

It lies up on an hill,
perhaps one of the most scenic spots for an umbrian village.

During the all month there are many reasons to choose Trevi: first of all, the three “taverne”, traditiomal eating places, are exceptionally open (del Castello, di Matiggia e del Piano), going there you can stroll around streets, lanes, squares, courtyards that bring you back to an atmosphere of great charme and warmth.

This month you can also have the chance to see historic parades, competitions like Palio dei Terzier and a beuatiful old medioeval style market where many Trevi citiziens, dressed up in costumes, go on parade and they display old professions.

It’s worth to download the programme. If you can’t visit Trevi, you can always discover how to do the traditional Trevi stuffed celery.

If you have time to visit the area more deeply, take a look at Clitunno’s source. The crystal like water of the lake is loved by swans and ducks, while the lush vegetation gives a romantic atmosphere to the spot, that was celebrated py poets and writers such as Byron and Goethe.
