Probably we will have already intrigued you with the proposal of a tour in the Sculpture Park of Bevagna, contained in the offer of a special weekend between Assisi and this medieval jewel, 15 km from the First UNESCO site of Umbria.

In this post we tell you something more about this original park, waiting to admire it together in a walk along the way.

 

WHAT TO SEE IN BEVAGNA: THE SCULPTURE PARK

The Sculpture Park is located in Umbria, in the small hamlet of Castelbuono di Bevagna, among the hills that lie in front of Mount Subasio,  Spello and Assisi.
The idea of ​​this original installation came to the artist from Bevagna, Paolo Massei, in collaboration with the institutions of the medieval city.

Marble, steel, cement, stone, bronze, resin, these are the materials of the 33 contemporary works of art housed in this truly permanent open-air museum, born in 2010 on the occasion of the annual Week of Culture and Culture Peace held in the village from 25 April to 1 May.

Each work, recalling the themes of nature, spirituality and art, is well integrated in the typical environment of the area that offers olive groves and vineyards, next to woods and pine forests along a path that between cellars, small sacred aedicules and sweets hills.

The itinerary stretches for about 5 km and can be traveled by any means suitable for the unpaved road, however we suggest to go on foot, by bike or perhaps on horseback to fully enjoy the silence and beauty of the context, however to enjoy full of the visit, contact us and we will accompany you to discover every single work, even those that at first sight are not noticed among the vegetation.

 

The works are not very far from each other, for example, in about 1.5 km in the central part of the park you can appreciate a dozen artifacts, all with a descriptive plate with the name of the author, the title of the work and date of installation.

Along the road you will also find wooden tables and benches ideal for a picnic or to relax a bit and maybe enjoy a breathtaking view of the Umbrian Valley.
